Child Custody and Support

Facing a custody case can be a difficult and emotional time for parents and other caretakers of children. We can help.

While the relationship of the adults involved may be at an end, the relationship between the child and each of his or her parents should continue in a manner that serves the best interests of the child. We work collaboratively with our clients to achieve the best results for them and their children.

The attorneys at Jerner & Palmer, P.C. have litigated groundbreaking cases for our clients and expanded the custodial rights of caretakers in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Parent vs. Parent, including married and unmarried individuals
Grandparent(s) vs. Parent(s)
Non-Biological/Non-Adoptive Parent (these caretakers are sometimes referred to as “in loco parentis”) vs. Biological or Adoptive Parent
Intended Parent(s) vs. Sperm Donor or Surrogate

Child Support

Both Pennsylvania and New Jersey have guidelines for the payment of child support. The amount required by the guidelines may be adjusted for additional expenses such as private school tuition, medical expenses and other particular needs of children. The attorneys of Jerner & Palmer, P.C. help clients determine appropriate child support obligations, counsel clients regarding their options for pursuing or defending child support actions and provide experienced representation for clients in child support actions.
