Jerner & Palmer, P.C. Partner Tiffany Palmer Elected as Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia

Jerner & Palmer, P.C. proudly announces the election of Attorney Tiffany Palmer as Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia in yesterday’s General Election. She will begin her term as a Judge in January 2020 and step down as a partner from Jerner & Palmer, P.C. in December. Partners Benjamin Jerner and Rebecca Levin will remain with the firm.

Attorneys Benjamin Jerner and Tiffany Palmer began Jerner & Palmer, P.C. in 2003 to serve the needs of individuals and families in the Greater Philadelphia area, with a particular interest in representing non-traditional families. Throughout her tenure at Jerner & Palmer, Tiffany’s work has helped create major advances in the legal rights of LGBTQ families in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She has been counsel on a number of groundbreaking trial and appellate cases. She was counsel in the Sherri Shepherd surrogacy case (In Re Baby S) in 2015, which held for the first time that surrogacy contracts are legally enforceable in Pennsylvania. In 2018, she argued before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court (C.G. v. J.H.) on issues related to expanding the definition of legal parent to protect the rights of same-sex co-parents.

As Tiffany embarks on this next phase of her legal career, Jerner and Palmer, P.C. will become Jerner Law Group, P.C. The firm will continue to provide legal services in Pennsylvania and New Jersey in all of its current practice areas, including Adoption, Assisted Reproductive Technology Law, Family Law, Estate Planning and Estate Administration.

While the Jerner & Palmer, P.C. family will miss Attorney Palmer, we are confident that she will prove to be an excellent jurist and bring her experience, integrity and empathy to the bench.
